Otoplasty is commonly referred to as ear pinning or tucking. It is a procedure for prominent ears especially when a person is viewed face on. A small incision is made in the crease behind the ear and the cartilage of the ear reshaped and held in a new position using fine stitches. There is a small amount of bruising or swelling and typically eye glasses or sunglasses can be worn after 7 - 10 days. The results are usually permanent.
